Obituary of Betty Mae Walters

A much-loved wife, mother, nanny, sister, daughter, and friend. Betty passed away on June 23, 2021. She fought a long tough battle, but she was always with a smile. She is preceded in death by her brother Dale Schutte, her father Leroy Schutte, her mother Nola Lamar and stepfather Clyde Lamar. She was born Betty Mae Schutte on July 18, 1951, in Cheyenne Wyoming. Betty had a very full life. She enjoyed playing many sports including softball, volleyball, and tennis. She was a self-taught piano player and loved playing music with her husband and friends. She was a Brownie Troop Leader and part-time substitute teacher. She was very creative, an avid reader, an amazing cook and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and ceramics. She loved animals and had several fur babies. Her family was her greatest accomplishment. She was always there for her children and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She is survived by the love of her life Alvin Walters. They were husband and wife for 52 years. She is also survived by her daughter Tammy Walters-Thurlkill; grandson Gage Bohannon; son Brian Walters & wife Dawna Walters; granddaughter Ava Walters and grandson Ayden Walters; her sisters Mary Alice Myers & husband Frank, Nyla Goody & husband Michael; brothers Bill Schutte & wife Lois and Walter P. Lamar & wife Tara. A celebration of her life will be announced at a later date.
