Obituary of Thomas Christopher McLeod, Sr.

Thomas Christopher McLeod, Sr “Chris” passed away on Monday October 18th. Chris was born on August 8, 1979 to parents Tom and Lynda McLeod in Houston, TX until moving to Louisiana at the age of 6. Chris spent the rest of his childhood in Bossier City where he made many lifetime friendships. Chris enjoyed learning about world history and was fascinated especially with kings and queens, emperors, pharaohs, and czars. His favorite hobby was the one he did with his dad which was to collect different kinds of guns, knives, and swords. After graduating from Airline High School in 1998, Chris went on to graduate from Northwestern University following in the footsteps of his mother and father receiving a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing in 2006. Chris was an amazingly gifted Registered Nurse and received many accolades in his 15 years of nursing. Chris loved the ER, but enjoyed learning all different areas of nursing, always welcoming a challenge. He was working on completing his Nurse Practitioner education as well as his cardiovascular RN certification. He loved traveling and had been all over the country as a travel nurse. Chris was intelligent, hilarious, and very protective over the people he loved. He loved having fun and laughing and making others laugh. Chris worked so hard to protect and provide for his family which was the most precious thing to him in life. He went above and beyond to make sure his family had everything they needed and wanted. Chris was such a loving father, son, brother, uncle, and friend and was a devoted, amazing husband. He will be missed by so many and lives on in his children and loved ones. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Arlon and Joy Reed; paternal grandparents, Vincent and Maggie McLeod, his brother Mark McLeod, daughter Braylen McLeod, and his father, Tom McLeod. Chris leaves behind his loving wife, Laura McLeod, his mother Lynda McLeod and partner Nick Keklikos; children Nick Lejeune, Carlee Holsted, Thomas Christopher McLeod, Jr, and Stella McLeod; niece Faith McLeod; nephew Trevor McLeod and partner Maritza; and great niece Annalise McLeod. A memorial service for Chris is being held Thursday October 28 at 11:00 am at Boone Funeral Home on Airline Dr in Bossier City, LA.
