Graveside Service : Chalybeate Springs Cemetery, Plain Dealing, La. Mary Ann McDougald Malone – devoted mom, MAM, sister, aunt, friend and most importantly Child of God. She was always there with a listening ear, an offer to help and words of advice. She loved big! She was strong, independent, wise, loyal and resilient – a Proverbs 31 Woman. She lived her DASH to the fullest. She was widowed at an early age, but she never let that stop her. She raised her two daughters with the perseverance found only from her faith in God. She opened her home to many family and friends finding themselves in need. She loved to entertain youth groups, singles groups, softball players and many others. That woman knew how to have fun. She could stir it up and come out smelling like a rose. She loved her Arkansas Razorbacks basketball. If you spent any time with her at all, you knew she loved Jesus, her family, especially her “one and only grandson” and her Razorbacks. Mary Ann was born December 18, 1942, in Laran, Louisiana, to Mattie Lockwood McDougald and Thomas Leon McDougald. She met the love of her life, Charles Edwin Malone in 1960 and married him in December of that year after a very short courtship. He was called to heaven in 1976 and she never remarried stating “why look for another when you’ve had the best”. Preceding her in death are her parents Leon and Mattie, her husband Charles, brothers Thomas Henry “Junnie” McDougald and Charlie Celbert “Putt” McDougald, sister Geraldine McBroom, sister and beloved friend Margie Ruth McDougald Turner and nephews James E. “Buddy” Turner and Zack Turner. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Sonya Robinette and her “favorite” son-in-law Aaron “DAR” Robinette, her daughter Carla Sue Malone, her “one and only grandson” Aaron Baker, her brother Dale (Monica) McDougald, her special niece and friend Susan (Donivan) Stogsdill and Kailey. Nieces - Kathy (Charles) Danley, and Kim (Donnie) Smith. Nephews - Tommy McDougald, Danny McDougald, Jeff (Dedra) Turner, Nick McDougald and Chris (Brittany) McDougald, longtime friend and confidant JoAnn Vergo. And many more nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Aaron Baker, Kailey Stogsdill, Brandon Turner, Lauren Turner Boyd, Donivan Stogsdill and Donnie Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews Nick, Chris and Tristan McDougald, Jeff and Trevor Turner, Jason McDougald and Trey May. The family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful nurses and staff in SICU at Willis Knighton North. Catheran “Cat” Glover, R.N. and Sabrina McMurray, R.N. went above and beyond to help us through this time. There are no words to say how much we appreciate all they did for mom and us.
