Obituary of Nelda Gail Cooper

Nelda G. Cooper passed away at age 74 on December 11, 2021, at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Bedford, Tx.
She was born to the late Frank & Louise Ridings in Wewoka, Oklahoma, on June 2, 1947. She married the late Loyd L. Cooper December 27, 1963. They lived in Arkansas for 6 years before relocating to Shreveport, where they lived for 47 years. Nelda is survived by her 3 children: Denise (Mark) Thompson of Hubert, North Carolina, David (Jennifer) Cooper of Shreveport, Louisiana, Shawna Cooper of Bedford, Texas; her siblings: Glenn (Nadine) Ridings of Hope, Arkansas and Barbara Ridings of Shreveport, Louisiana. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren as well as many adopted family members. Nelda was predeceased by her loving husband in 2016.
Before moving to Bedford, Texas she was a member of Baptist Tabernacle for almost 50 years. She became the go to lady for planning events at her church. She will always be remembered for her time as the “cafeteria lady” at Baptist Christian Academy and College.
She was a great wife, mother, granny, and friend to many.
The Celebration of Life service will be held at Baptist Tabernacle, 8501 E. Kingston Rd, on Thursday December 16, 2021, with the viewing at 10:00 a.m. and service to follow at noon, with a grave side at Forest Park West afterwards.
