I had the pleasure of meeting Les Parker on a few occasions through my husband, Doug Perry. Les impressed me with his sweet and easy going demeanor. But what really sticks out to me was his smile and fun nature.
My husband, Doug Perry, has asked me to convey how grateful he is to have witnessed and shared the special friendship bond that has so much history between his parents, Les, Janet, Susan, and another fun soul, Faddy ....who is greeting Les in heaven now with open arms. Doug says he feels blessed to have known and loved Les not only as a friend but like an Uncle …..he will be missed. Our deepest condolences to The Parker family.

Heaven has received another beautiful soul in Les Parker.
We first met the Parkers while stationed at Weisbaden AFB, Germany in 1973 and have remained friends to this day. Fond remembrances of the many trips we took searching for clocks and special antiques, traveling to Paris, Holland and throughout Germany. Vacationing in Baveria during Christmas with our families was very special. Les was loving and dedicated to his family, a craftsman when dealing with wood projects and always willing to help anyone needing assistance. He will be sorely missed by all as well as by Bella, his dog. Our prayers and thoughts go out to those left behind to celebrate his life. We thank God for the opportunity we had just being a part of his life. Rest in peace and love!

The Final Salute
“Brothers and Sisters in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Dallas Lester Parker, Jr. our Brother-in-Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Les. To Les it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Vietnam War while serving in the U.S. Air Force. Les we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, the Veterans of VFW Post 4588, and the Disabled Veterans of DAV Chapter 30 in Shreveport and Bossier City, Louisiana we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Les’s family and loved ones.
