Obituary of Frederick Wayne Burt

Fred Burt (PopPop) was born in Shreveport, Louisiana and went to be with his Lord, February 1, 2022. Fred passed following a lengthy illness.
Fred graduated from Airline High School and shortly joined the US Army to proudly defend his country. He served two years as a tank and track mechanic and was stationed in Korea in 1969 with the 6th Battalion, 37th Artillery. After leaving the military he began a career as an iron worker. Fred had a strong passion for drag racing and building cars. He was often found with his friends either working on their cars or drag racing.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Fred H. and Martha L. Burt both of Doyline, Louisiana. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jan Burt; brother, Richard Burt; daughter, Fatona Khosravi; grandson, John Benfield; and many family members and friends.
Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
