I am saddened to hear about the loss of my relative Oneta Hood. I remember the many times that my family and I would drive up to the country and stop for a visit with Oneta and Melvin. It was always a nice outing for me growing up. She always made us feel so very welcomed and was a perfect example of southern hospitality. Not only did we visit with her in her home, but we always enjoyed seeing her on squirrel day. I'll never forget when my mom and dad Nelda and Hayward John drove my husband and me and our two sons to her home and how well they were entertained and treated. That is the place that one of my sons caught his first Louisiana fish-- in her pond. There are so many nice memories of this Godly lady, and she will be deeply missed. It is never easy to lose a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, or a friend; but know that GOD is walking by your side to help you during this difficult time.
Even though I live in Pennsylvania and can not be present with you during this time, my family and I will certainly be praying for you and our hearts will certainly be there with you. May you find comfort in knowing that you were a part of her life and she was a part of yours. Now let us rejoice in those wonderful memories because she has not left us. She is still part of us.
With deepest sympathy and love,
