Obituary of John Bynog

John Bynog, 52, of Shreveport, Louisiana, passed away on February 15, 2022.
John was born in Natchitoches, LA, on September 25, 1969. He graduated from Natchitoches
Central High School and later earned his associate degree in accounting and computer
information technology.
John was married to Cleta on November 9, 1990. During their thirty-one years of marriage, John and Cleta traveled the country and the world and enjoyed each other’s company whether on
vacation or sitting on the back porch.
John worked for the Bossier Parish School Board as the bookkeeper for Benton High School. He
retired from Brookshire’s Grocery Company in 2013 after twenty-eight years of service. He
enjoyed traveling the world with his beloved Cleta and sipping on a glass of good bourbon.
John is survived by his wife, Cleta Bynog. He also leaves his daughter Alicia Gehrls and her
husband Brian of Benton, LA, and daughter Miranda Smith and her husband Chris of Carthage,
TX. He is also survived by his father John I. Bynog and his wife Linda of Natchitoches, LA. He was the proud Pop-Pop of Camille Gehrls, Ryan Moton, and Ali Moton. He is also survived by sisters Jennifer Golemon and Jacqueline Ford and stepsister Rebecca Westbrook. John leaves
numerous other family members and friends.
John is preceded in death by his mother Betty Basco and his beloved puppy Opie Juan.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
