Obituary of Stephen Andrew Champagne

Stephen Andrew Champagne (Steve) age 72, a resident of Marthaville, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. He was a retired U.S. Marine, and a Vietnam Veteran. He was a master carpenter by trade, a family man with seven sons. Very outgoing and friendly with everybody. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Milda P. Champagne; sons, Dexter and wife Susan of Mansura, Louisiana, Chad of Holden, Louisiana, Blaine of Walker, Louisiana, Lee and wife TaRhonda of Marthaville, Louisiana, Travis of Marthaville, Louisiana, Cody and wife Tricia of Robeline, Louisiana; brother, Lester Champagne of Baton Rouge; Ann Murphy, who he jokingly called his step-wife; grandchildren, Marc D. Champagne, II, Samantha Champagne, Andrew Champagne, Kadance Champagne, Kaison Champagne, Carly Adams, Chloe Montgomery, and Vance Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Phillip, and Ethan Champagne; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew L. Champagne and Jimmie Ray Durr Delk; son, Marc D. Champagne; grandparents, Ruben “Lester” Durr and Estelle Byrd Durr; and brother, James Champagne. Funeral services will be held at Beulah Methodist Church, 2279 Hwy 487, Marthaville, Louisiana 71450 on March 26, 2022. Pastor Charlotte Birdwell officiating. Visitation will be held at 12:00 PM with services following at 1:00 PM. Burial will be at Beulah Cemetery. Upon his request his six “female” pallbearers are: Kadance Champagne, TaRhonda Champagne, Renee Wilkerson, London Lonadier, Courtney Colston, and Ann Murphy.
