Obituary of Pamela Annette Rich

Pamela Annette Rich, 61, of Bossier City, LA passed away April 19, 2022. Pam was born Nov. 12, 1960 to Mary “Imogene” Oglesby Rich and James “Wayne” Rich of Springhill, LA. From her inventor/designer father, Pam learned many practical skills and developed a love for water skiing, horseback riding, swimming, and the outdoors in general. From her artistic mother, Pam inherited a talent for drawing and painting. She would go on to combine these interests into a truly rich and vibrant life. After graduating from Springhill High School in 1978, Pam attended Louisiana Tech University where she earned her BA of Fine Arts in 1982. She went on to work for a number of companies, all the while continuing to paint and to enjoy the outdoors. The happiest time of her life, probably, was spent in Panama City, FL, swimming and diving among the dolphins, manatees, and other sea life. Pam was preceded in death by her mother and father, and by her older sister Sarah Jean Rich Faulk. She is survived by her niece, Shanna Faulk Duck, and great-niece Sarah Ann Duck of Gilmer, TX. Pam’s memory will be cherished by many people including her in-laws Albert Faulk, Kay Faulk Stratton, and Marsha Faulk Toland, with whom she spent many happy summers baling hay and eating Mawmaw Nova’s chocolate pies when young. She will also be greatly missed by many dear companions, friends, and co-workers, who all loved Pam’s exuberance and creativity. Pam’s memorial service will be held Sunday, May 15 at 2 PM at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA. Flowers and tropical plants are a lovely way to remember a person who so dearly loved nature. In lieu of flowers, however, feel free to make a donation to Island Dolphin Care of Key Largo, FL, which uses dolphin therapy and art to aid autistic children and those with PTSD, or to any charity of your choice.
