He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Vivian Florene Williams, and brothers in-law Troy Eubanks, Roger Booth, Jack Galbraith, and Dewey Beavers. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-eight years, Mary Beavers Williams, children Dawn Williams Coker and Craig Lester Williams and wife, Kelli Fontenot Williams, grandsons Peyton Deen Coker and wife, Peyton Hunsicker Coker, and Nathan Ellis Coker, sisters Patsy Mouton and husband Jimmie, Mary Gail Eubanks, Linda Freeman and husband Robert, Judy Booth, sisters-in-law Dorothy Galbraith, Kathryn Beavers, and Martha Darden and husband Ebb, numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and so many dear friends.
Born in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana, on June 26, 1941, Marvin was called “Sonny” by his parents, sisters, nieces, and nephews. He grew up in Mount Holly, Arkansas, where he met his high school sweetheart, Mary. After graduating from Southern State (SAU) in Magnolia, he and Mary were married on October 19, 1963. In 1966, they moved to the Shreveport-Bossier area where he worked as an accountant until he retired from AT&T.
Marvin loved to hunt, fish, jog, and cheering on his Arkansas Razorbacks. Although he enjoyed these hobbies, serving His Lord and Savior at First Bossier was his passion.
The family would like to thank the staff at Willis Knighton Rehab Hospital for their compassionate care, as well as, family friend and caregiver, Beverly Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to First Bossier Children’s Ministry.
