To the family,May our Sovereign Lord, the "Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort," comfort you during this most difficult time. He knows the pain in your hearts and the void. There is hope, comfort and a future for those sleeping in death. Our Sovereign Lord promises regarding this is recorded in the Bible at Revelation 21:4,5; Isaiah 26:19; Isaiah 25:8 and John 5:28.

How can I even say how heartbroken I am? Rafael was a true friend who never denied anything to anyone who asked him for help. He told me recently that he made it a point to ask people he encountered if he could pray for them--in the grocery store or wherever he noticed a need. His prayers healed my heart and he was a hero to the men he served in the prison ministry where we met--an encourager, a Bible scholar, a Holy Spirit-led brother in faith. Rest in Peace. There will never be anyone like you, Rafael. Thank you for loving Jesus so much that His love was poured out through your life to others. Kim and Bruce Ketola

Rafael Zarate was the best friend anyone could have. He was a giver...from his heart. He cared about people. He LOVED God. His life was about helping others see Jesus. He was a light and an encouragement and life will be difficult to imagine without him being a part of my life. NO ONE will ever be able to replace him. I will NEVER forget him. My heart is broken, but I know he is with our Savior...and in His arms, he hurts no more. This is a devastating loss for my family, but a tremendous gain for our brother...Hermano Zarate. We will always love you.
