Thomas Bartley Stamper, loving husband and father, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at the age of 74.   Thomas was born March 30, 1948, to Vivian Lorraine Carter and Oscar Jerome Stamper, in Grayson Louisiana. He attended through 6th grade in Grayson, then moved to Houma, LA, where he attended Houma Central and Oaklawn Jr. High. Mr. Stamper then moved to Natchitoches, LA to attend The Natchitoches Trade School to learn the welding trade. There he met and married his first wife Reba Rose Welch and soon they adopted their only child, Eraic Bartley Stamper. He then moved his family to Shreveport and worked for Riley Beaird’s for over 30 years as a welder. During that time, he joined two organizations that changed his life. The first was the Masonic Brotherhood and he became Master Mason on 3/10/1975, belonging to Sunset Lodge #438 F.&A.M. for 47 years until his death. The second was when he joined the El Karubah Shriner’s in 1984, as a member of their clown unit. His love of kids and his belief in the Shriner Hospital’s vision brought him much joy until his health in later years prevented his attendance.   Thomas retired due to health reasons in 2002. His wife, Reba, passed away in 2004. Thomas was remarried in March, 2007 to Lynne Mascagni, formerly of Benton, LA. They moved to Keithville, LA, where Thomas loved working in his yard, drinking coffee on his back porch with neighbors and bird watching. He was an ardent fan of the LSU Tigers and The Saints. Thomas never met a stranger, and cherished the many friendships he made in his life time, especially his special friends Connie and Harold Roge. Much love and gratitude to William and Anita Judy for their help and care of Thomas during his final years and days. Mr. Stamper was preceeded by his first wife, Reba Welch Stamper, his parents and grandparents and his special friend, Harold Roge. Mr. Stamper is survived his wife, Lynne Mascagni Stamper, Son Eraic B. Stamper, Step Children Joe Mascagni (m. Jennifer), Nina Stephens, Charles Mascagni, Jr, 4 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. Others left behind include brothers Eugene and Oscar Stamper, many nephews, nieces and cousins, and those of his first wife’s family who loved him dearly. He will be missed by his fur babies, Poppy and Missy. A memorial service will be held for Thomas on a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shriners Hospital in Shreveport.
