My heartfelt sympathy to the entire Evans family. I went to HS with Marty and remember him as a really nice guy, always ready with a smile. May his smile continue to shine down on all of you. Lois Inzetta Jones SBHS

My deepest sympathies in the loss of Marty. He was my neighbor for many years at Spring Lake Point during the mid 80's when he first met Jan. What a great guy! I will never forget him singing "Moon River" and his genuine laugh.
Our "gang" shared made many good memories with Marty. He will always be a part of our hearts.
A true American hero and friend...

I met Martin, I won't call him Marty because he was his father's son and that is how his friends knew him, once. He made the effort, I know at much personal discomfort to be with his sister,Ruth, and others at our son's Basic Training ceremonies in Texas. Martin was recovering from surgery and still managed to be a gentleman and influence on my young son. I mourn with all who knew, learned and enjoyed Martn's company. I warn all of you to spend all the time you can send from your lives to spend time with your family! No one is immortal on this earth. God Speed Sgt. Martin Stanley Evans Jr.

It's been quite a few years since I saw Marty. Many years he was fixture at our house. He was a wonderful friend, we could always count on him to help out. He was my daughters godfather, and he was dedicated to our great country. His whole purpose in life was to do for his country. Unfortunately, he never got back to NJ to keep a promise to my late husband, and likewise on this end. We love you Marty, RIP

Martin was a very handsome man and looked a lot like his Dad. I was a few years older than Marty. I would see him and Harry at our Mamaw and Papaw Evans' from time to time in the summer. He being a boy, was always out and about with the other boy cousins. We all grew up and drifted apart. I have in the last few years reconnected with most of my Evans family. My Uncle Stanley (MartinSr.), always made sure I was with the family when he was there. I am so sorry that I let time go by and never was reconnected with Martin and Harry. I had never met their sister Ruth Ann until our 2013 family reunion. I was so happy to finally meet her, the only cousin I had never met. I love you Ruth, and I am so sorry for your loss. God Bless always.
Your Cousin,
Anna Lou
