Obituary of Jane Hiser Hahn

Jane Hiser Hahn passed away on August 17, 2017 after a long illness. Originally from Shreveport, she graduated from Byrd High School and Meadows-Draughon College. She met a dashing aviation cadet from Minnesota at a dance at Barksdale AFB and was soon married. They lived a whirlwind life, stationed in Germany; El Paso and Harlingen, Texas; Salina and Topeka, Kansas; and then back to Barksdale. Following his retirement as a Vietnam War hero, she was able to live in Bossier City for the next 54 years. She was preceded in death by her father, John W. Hiser; her mother, Mary Elizabeth Cathey; her sister Sunshine Gammill; her twin sister Joan Thurmon; and her dear husband of nearly 65 years, Lt Col Daniel J. Hahn, USAF (Ret). She is survived by her sons John Daniel Hahn and Michael J. Hahn; daughters Deborah Stewart, Barbara Hasely, and Kathleen Barker; 16 grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. Viewing will be at Noon Friday, August 25th at Barksdale United Methodist Church followed by services at 1:00 with Rev. Kendall R. Docter officiating. Interment will be at 3:00 in Oak Grove Cemetery near Arcadia, LA.
