Obituary of Chester C. Giddens

Please share a memory of Chester to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Chester was born November 10, 1943 in Coushatta and passed on June 1, 2018 following a brief illness with his family by his side.

As a young man, he served in the US Air Force.  He was a devoted employee for Riley Beaird Industries for most of his career.  He was known by many, through his work at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.  After retirement, he had more time to spend with his wife and precious grandchildren.  His favorite pastime was teaching them the proper way to fish and doing things outdoors.  Every year he planted a vegetable garden so that family and friends could enjoy the veggies he grew.  He was known for his tomatoes and cucumbers.

Preceding Chester in death are his parents, Andrew and Nunar Giddens; siblings, Lamurl Giddens, Larry Giddens, Emily Roper, and Margaret Ainsworth.  He leaves behind the love of his life, wife, Pat Giddens; children, Vicki Brown and husband Chris, and Scott Giddens and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Dalton Giddens, Reagan Pepper, Mason Pepper, Presley Pepper, Hunter Brown, Blake Brown, Averee Kemp, and Aubrey Giddens; siblings, Clyde Giddens, Patty Ruth Scott, Carol Ann Upchurch; and many other family members.

Chester loved deeply and taught his family valuable lessons that will be passed on to future generations through his beloved grandchildren.
