James Gamble was born on July 13, 1924 to James Gamble Sr. and Francis Lee Gamble. He passed away on July 5, 2014. James served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942 and was honorably discharged in 1945.
James is preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Grace Perer, daughter Mary Sprawls, and son James R. Gamble III.
James is survived by brother Charles Dillman, wife Betty Gamble, daughters Margaret Koch (Mike), Kathy Lambert, Debra Jeanes (Richard) and son Robbie Johnson. He also had 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home, Shreveport Chapel. Graveside Services will be 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Northwest Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Veteran's Memorial in his name.
