Obituary of Leon "H.L." Freeman
Funeral services for Leon will be 10:00 AM, Monday, May 21, 2018 at Airline Church of Christ. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery. Officiating will be Thomas Welch.
The family will receive friends between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home-Bossier City.
Leon was born August 8, 1923 in Warren, AR to parents William and Eunice Freeman, and died May 14, 2018. He joined Army Air Corp and served as a Navigator during WWII. After the War, he met and married Billie R. Charrier on September 22, 1946 and enjoyed 40 years of marriage. Leon retired from the Air Force after serving 26 years. He was a devoted member of the church of Christ and served his local church in many capacities.
Leon was preceded in death by his wife, Billie on July 20, 1987. Leon is survived by daughters, Karon “Susie” Clark (Paul) of Topeka, KS and Linda Grubbs (John “Ed”) of Haughton, LA; son, Don Freeman (Peggy) of Justin, TX; grandchildren, Stephanie Langley, Andrea Horst, Jason Grubbs, Heather Anderson, Trevor Freeman, Eric Freeman, Kelley Gardiner, and Hannah Carter; great-grandchildren, Chase Grubbs, Merideth Langley, Ryleigh Horst, Jacob Grubbs, Madelynn Langley, Clark Horst, Zoe Grubbs, Lydia Horst, John Henry and Vivian Freeman, Preston Freeman, Ellie Anderson, Ruel, Finley, and Ava Grubbs, Clara Freeman, and Ace Anderson.
Leon dedicated his life to serving his Lord, family, and country.
