Obituary of Buck D. Furlow

Shreveport, LA - Funeral services for Buck D. Furlow will be 11:00 AM, Friday, April 25, 2014 at Shreveport Baptist Temple, 288 Flournoy Lucas Road, Shreveport. Officiating will be Pastor Howard H. Hall and Donald Bush. The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at the Shreveport Baptist Temple. Also, the family will receive friends on Friday, from 10:00 AM to service time. Buck, 79, gave up his courageous battle with cancer on April 21, 2014 surrounded by his family. In Buck's last years, his strong faith and positive attitude toward his treatment, kept him going. Always known as a great provider for his family he retired from Roadway. He carried a passion for hunting and gardening, but most of all; he loved his family, and his church family. Preceding Buck in death are his parents, Neva and Garland Furlow and granddaughter Brandi Qualkenbush. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Furlow; daughters, Peggy Kolb and husband Doug, and Pam Coleman and husband Lee; son, Buck E. Furlow and wife Sheila; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Nell Jobe; brother, Carl Furlow and wife Ann, and Dan Furlow and wife Virginia; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Buck will be greatly missed by all that had the honor of knowing him.
