Obituary of Betty Wood Flowers

Betty Wood Flowers slipped away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on July 25, 2019 surrounded by her family. Betty was born June 25, 1945 in Shreveport to parents JT and Mae Wood. She grew up in Shreveport and was a graduate of Byrd High School. Betty married the love of her life, Ronnie Flowers on March 22, 1963. Betty found great joy in being a mother and raising her three sons, especially the apple of her eye, Jason.  She was known for her wonderful thanksgiving meals, especially her amazing cornbread dressing and chocolate pies.  Betty also enjoyed traveling, antique shopping, and gathering with family.

Betty is survived by Husband of 56 years Ronnie Flowers, Sons; Richard (Brian), Robert (Becky), and Jason, grandchildren; Chris, Brittney and Josh; 5 great-grandchildren, sisters; Nancy Brown, and Virginia Harrell. She is also survived by many other friends and family.

Betty’s service will be held at Boone Funeral Home on July 30, 2019 at 1:30pm with Rev. Larry Bass officiating.  The family will receive friends at 12:30pm. Her graveside service will be at the Bethel Cemetery on Primitive Baptist Church Road in North Shreveport at 3:00pm.
