Dorothy and I worked next to one another for several years in Houston. We were just out of college and very young and Dorothy just took care of us. After marrying and returning to Shreveport I can remember taking the kids to her house first every Halloween. I have many recipes marked "Dorothy Kilgore Favorite". Also, she always reminded me that her favorite pie was the egg custard recipe my mother gave her. During the last few years I returned to work and saddly only visited with Dorothy by phone on occasion or a Christmas card. I was so sorry to hear about your great loss. Please know what a special lady she was -- I will always think of her with a smile.

I will miss you Dorothy!I too worked with Dorothy in the old Texas Eastern payroll department. I had just graduated from La Tech in 1977 and Dorothy took me under her wing and really made a huge influence on my life. I used to make Dorothy laugh so hard that we would both just cry from laughing. She would make me a Red-Velvet cake every year for my birthday with whip cream icing!! It was probably the most delicious cake I've ever eaten! After Dorothy moved back to Shreveport, we kinda lost touch with each other. Fortunetly, I was able to visit with her about 2 years ago at her home and I will cherish that time as well as all the wonderful memories I have of her. Dorothy was truly a wonderful lady and I will miss her so much! I am so sorry for your loss and I will pray for God's comfort and blessings on your family.
