Bossier City, LA ? A memorial service will be held for Dorothy Martin at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Boone Funeral Home. Officiating will be Reverend Scott Adams.
The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM on Monday, March 7, 2011 at Boone Funeral Home.
Dorothy, 83, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2011 surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Lucene and Earl Thurber; brothers, Colonel Robert James Thurber and Lt. Col. William Thurber. She is survived by sons, William Martin and wife Mary, Bobby Martin, and wife Glenda, and Greg Martin; daughter, Karyn Webb and husband Jimmy; ten grandchildren, Chris Martin and wife Amy, Casey Martin and wife Natalie, Heaven Martin, Weston Martin, David Martin and wife Chasity, Kristi M. Clearman and husband Paul, Matthew Sawyer, Kimi Sawyer, Donnie Martin and Jenny Martin; and seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind life-long friends Pearl Henry and Helen Wilson.
Dorothy was a special person that truly loved her family and friends. She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, traveling with her friends and eating out with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
