Obituary of Regen Michal Dennis

Regen Michal Dennis passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014. She was born on November 28, 1962 in Shreveport, LA. She spent a large portion of her childhood in Lake Charles, LA, after which time her family returned to Shreveport. She graduated from Byrd High School in 1980 and received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Nursing from Northwestern State University in 1985. She was both a past Worthy Advisor of the Rainbow Girls and Worthy Matron of Order of the Eastern Star, Victory Chapter #130. Regen was an avid music lover and writer. She loved to cook, ride four wheelers with her nephews, and argue over what music to play on the radio during road trips. For the past five years, she had been living in Longview, TX.
Regen is survived by her mother, Charlotte Dennis of Shreveport, LA; father, Wayne Dennis and his wife Nanette, of Seagoville, TX; sisters Christene Sonnier and husband Mark, of Mauriceville, TX, Rachel Webster and husband Matt, of Bossier City, LA, and Carrie-Francis Dennis of Seagoville, TX; brother Rion Dennis of Seagoville, TX; nephews Mark Sonnier II, Ethan Sonnier and wife Jauqulyn, Zachary Sonnier, Conner Sonnier, and Noah Webster; and great-nephew, Cooper Sonnier.
A memorial service honoring her life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City. For those who prefer, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society. Visitation with the family will take place immediately following the service.
