Obituary of Donald Ray Sharbono

Donald Ray Sharbono, 76, of Shreveport passed away on August 15, 2020 in Shreveport.  A Celebration of Life service will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, August 21, 2020 at Boone Funeral Home.  Interment, with military honors, will follow in Rose Neath Cemetery.

Donald was born in Alexandria to Agnes Rice Sharbono and Jesse Ray Sharbono on July 16, 1944.  He attended high school at Bolton High in Alexandria and graduated in 1963.  He worked as an occupational employee for Western Electric/Lucent for 33 years.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army after high school in Korea.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing growing vegetables, listening to live music and dancing.

Donald is preceded in death by his father, Jesse Ray Sharbono; mother, Agnes Rice Pinckley; and brother, Gary Lyn Sharbono.

He is survived by daughters, Donna Atkinson and husband John, and Elizabeth Morris and husband James; eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren; sister, Francis Vanzandt and husband John; his very dear friend of over 40 years Dave Crouch; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The National Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org or the National Rifle Association at NRA.org.
