Obituary of Angelo Nicola Basciano

Please share a memory of Angelo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Angelo Basciano passed this life on February 25, 2020 in Bossier City, LA; the city of his birth.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents James V. “sonny” and Gloria G. Oglesby of Bossier City and Giulia Basciano of Paglieta, Italy.

Angelo is survived by his mother Julie Oglesby McNair; brother Andrew J. Basciano of Bossier City; father Giuseppe “Peppino” Basciano of Shreveport; stepfather John W. McNair; stepbrothers John W. McNair, Jr., and Dalton J. McNair; special cousin Brandi Elizabeth Victoria Andrews and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Angelo was a surviving drug and alcohol addict of 25 years. He spent the las 15 months clean and sober encouraging other addicts to try and overcome their addiction like he had. Angelo would have wished for families who have and struggle with addictions to never give up. There is hope and help out there for all those willing to get clean. Angelo said, “New day recovery on Greenwood Road in Shreveport saved my life. If I can do it, anyone can!”.
