Funeral services for Duane Buck Monroe will be held in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home, 3903 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Monday, April 16, 2007, at 1:00 pm with Pastor David Daniel, of Broadmoor Assembly of God Church officiating. Graveside services will follow at Centuries Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4-6 pm. Mr. Monroe passed away April 12, 2007. He was born on September 8, 1921, in Peason, LA. Mr. Monroe worked as a Master Carpenter for many years and was a lifetime member of the Carpenter's Union Local #764. He attended Broadmoor Assembly of God Church and was an antique car enthusiast. He was a member of the Ark-La-Tex Antique and Classic Car Club, and the Ark-La A's (Model A) Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal; parents, Louis and Kate Monroe; two brothers and four sisters. He is survived by is his daughter Shellie Wirth and husband Phil; grandchildren: Lela Nicole White and husband Bill, Kenneth Monroe Wirth; his dear friend Ruby Mauldin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
