Obituary of George Beasley

George "Carroll" Beasley, age 91, passed away Thursday 5/29/08 after a lengthy illness. He was born in Barboursville, Va. on August 22, 1916, one of 9 children.
He was transferred to Shreveport, La with Paramount-Gulf States Theatres in 1956 from Memphis, Tn. to manage the Strand Theatre. After leaving the theatre he was employed by Bill Hanna Ford, Chevyland and retiring from Independent Supply and Service.
His parents, 3 sisters and 5 brothers preceded him in death. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Emma of 63 years, his daughter, Eleanor Gautney of Shreveport, his sons, George C. Beasley, Jr. and wife Carol of El Segundo, Ca and Alan Dale Beasley of Shreveport, 4 grandchildren, David Young, Damian Beasley and partner Shane Stewart, Joel Beasley and wife Danielle, and Brandy Gautney, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews residing in Charlottesville, Va., special friends Dorothy, Katie, Lisa & Alice Poss, Weyman Wart, Gena, Gena Marie & Nick Gorman, Racheal Meade, Dean Bass, Luci Anderson, Jewel Rushing and Carol Foster.
A special thanks to Heritage Manor Stratmore and Hospices for all the attention that they gave our father. Visitation with family will be Wednesday, June 4, 2008 from 6pm-8pm at the Chapel in Heritage Manor Stratmore at 530 Stratmore, Shreveport, La. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, www.americancancersociety.com.
