Shreveport, LA Idell Elizabeth (Liz) Edwards, 72, went to be with the LORD Sunday, May 27, 2012, after a courageous 5 year battle with cancer. Born Idell Elizabeth Dyck on April 4, 1940 in Cotton Valley, LA, she attended Cotton Valley schools graduating in 1958. In 1959, she married Robert Leon Edwards. They had 2 children, Tony and Tammy. She was a resident of Shreveport for 45 years. She had been a career banking employee beginning with Pioneer Bank and retiring from Capital Bank in 2010. Mrs. Edwards is survived by her husband, Leon; mother, Ola Mae Dyck; son, Tony Gerald Edwards; daughter, Tammy Standridge; 2 grandchildren, Amber Ortiz and Brandon Ortiz; brother, Randy Dyck; sister, Betty Jo Perkins and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Elmer Dyck Jr. and father, Elmer Ray Dyck Sr. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm, Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Spirit Wind Church, 5280 Benton Rd, Bossier City, LA. Tom McCann and Steve Standridge will conduct the service. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Fiest Waller Cancer Clinic and Christus Home Care Hospice for their outstanding care and services. In lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations to be made to the Christus Home Care Hospice, 318-681-4605.
