Obituary of Bertha Billingy

Mrs. Bertha Billingy, age 84, a wonderful and loving woman who always put family first, passed away on March 27, 2010. Visitation will be held at Boone Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 from 5pm until 7pm. Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on April 1, 2010 at the funeral home. Mrs. Billingy was born in Anguilla, British West Indies on April 2, 1925. She immigrated to New York City in 1949. Her and her husband of 54 years lived in New York City until 1989 when they moved to Oviedo, Fl where they remained until 2004. They then relocated to Bossier City, LA with their son, Carl. She was very proud of becoming a US Citizen in 1976. Mrs. Billingy was preceded in death by her husband, Hamilton Billingy, her parents, five sisters and three brothers. Left to cherish her memory are her sons Carl and wife Mary, Carey and wife Renee, and Sherman and wife Addell; grandchildren Sean, Chanel, Vaughn, Tyrone, Nicole, Nakiya, Liana, Danielle and Jasmine; her sister Margaret Hughes and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Colonial Oaks staff, both present and past, who provided excellent care to Mrs. Billingy for 5 ½ years and AGAPE Hospice who also provided excellent care more recently. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to hospice or to simply do a good deed for someone else. ?Fill not your heart with pain and sorrow but remember me in every tomorrow?remember the Joy, the Laughter, the Smiles?.
