I was shocked to learn of Judy’s death, though, considering her health problems, not surprised. Our friendship goes back many years to college days when she was my “Little Sister” when she pledge Alpha Omega sorority at Baylor. We became lasting friends during that time and were bridesmaids in each other’s weddings. Through the years she was difficult to keep up with because of her living in so many varied locations. But, we always managed to reconnect somehow. Judy went through some difficult years with many challenges. One thing stayed constant, however, and that was her love for her kids and family. Her love for God grew through the years and she became an increasingly devout Christian. The description of her in the obituary was written by someone who knew her well. It was spot on. Her talents were many and she used them well. I am privileged to have been her friend and will miss her radiant smile. She always closed off our telephone conversations with “I love you and John”, and I knew she meant it.

Her passing saddens me but only for a moment because I remember how she was: truly hopeful and loving and kind. Greg and Jill, I know you know how fortunate you were to have her as a Mother but she made many of us feel loved and cared for as well. Her warm and loving nature were always present and palpable. I am grateful to have known her and I won't ever forget her or her deep, unwavering faith in HIM. May God bless her and you and your family and may she rest in peace. Royal Alexander
