Bossier City, LA - Allan Fink, age 71, died on Saturday September 20, 2008. He was born on October 24, 1936 in Trenton NJ to Donald and Sadie (Stehlin) Fink.
Allan was united in marriage to Sally Etheridge on August 23, 1985. They had 23 beautiful and happy years together. He served in the US Navy from 1954 to 1964, worked for Swift Packing Co. for 17 years in Marshalltown, IA and was an over the road truck driver until he retired. Allan enjoyed golfing, shuffle board, fishing, and traveling. He became a life time member of VFW Post 7591 in Madison WI (2003) and transferred to VFW Post 5951 in Bossier City, LA where he and his wife had many friends who were very supported in his time of need.
Mr. Fink is survived by his wife Sally, two daughters Amy (Veeren) Chengalaram of Gilbert, AZ, Robin (Darien) Tourville of Ozark, MO, three step daughters Brenda (Rod) Pelzek of Fairchild, WI, Mary Hahn of Viroqua, WI, and Cindy Bremer of Viola, WI; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenneth Stehlin in 2007.
A memorial service will be held on Sept.26, 2008 at 5:30PM at VFW Post 5159, 1315 Northgate Rd; Bossier City, LA with eulogy by Max Arend and Minister Steve Gilbert. There will also be a service in Madison WI, on Oct.8, 2008 at 6:00 PM at the VFW Post 7591, 301 Cottage Grove Rd; Madison, WI. Friends and family may call from 5 until time of service at both Posts.
