Marcie Rankins, 58 of Benton LA passed away on Tuesday, Nov 8th, 2011 with family by her side. Marcelle Denise Behl was born Feb 23, 1953 to George and Eileen Behl in Grand Forks, ND. She grew up in East Grand Forks, MN. Marcie married John Edward Rankins (J.R.) Nov 8th 1969.
Marcie and J.R. lived in Germany for seven years which gave them the opportunity to travel in European countries. Marcie loved to travel and visit historic churches throughout Europe. For the past 11 years she worked at St Jude?s Catholic Church in Bossier City, LA, as the Director of Spiritual Formation. Marcie truly enjoyed time with her co workers, volunteers and youth she worked with over the years; she considered all of them special. Marcie also loved Irish music, traveling, collecting religious artifacts, and she cherished spending time with family and friends.
Marcie is survived by J.R. her husband of 42 years; daughter, Michelle Hart Bossier City, LA; son, Joshua (Melanie) So Korea with the US Air Force. Grandchildren: Angela, Nathan, Summer, Parker, & Kaden. Great grandchild, Braedon. Parents, George and Eileen Behl Battle Lake MN; brothers: Gregory (Lauren) St Louise Park, MN; Ronald (Mickey) Brooklyn Park, MN; George (Cindy) Wadena MN; Dennis (Lisa) Fargo, ND; Dean (Melissa) St Cloud MN. Sisters: Mickie (Al) Alfredson, Battle Lake, MN; Joelle Behl (Chuck Cooper); Clitheral MN, Mary (Dave)Hanson; Ottertail, MN, Anne (Charles)Terwey; Battle Lake, MN; Sara (Monty)Luhning, Ottertail, MN; Joni (Donavon) Luhning, Battle Lake, MN; many nieces and nephews.
Marcie was preceded in death by sister, Amy Theresa, maternal and paternal grandparents.
Memorial services are 11am on Saturday Nov 12th 2011 at St. Jude?s Catholic Church in Bossier City, LA.
