Karl Maurice Fohn passed away on July 3, 2012 at his home in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 18, 1958, the son of Dr. Charles H. Fohn and Johelen Fohn. Karl graduated from Camden High School in Camden, Arkansas and received his Bachelors Degree in Geology from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana and Masters Degree in Geosciences from Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana. He worked as a Geologist for the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality for more than 23 years. Karl was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, grilling, and other outdoor activities and was always up for a good debate. He will be remembered as a deeply caring person to the people he loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends. Karl is survived by his father, Charles H. Fohn of Camden, Arkansas; sisters, Karen Fohn of Houston, Texas, and Marcia Rakoski and her husband, Larry, of Bulverde, Texas; a brother, Alan Fohn of Fayetteville, Arkansas; nephews Michael and Will Rakoski of Bulverde, Texas;and dear friends, Steve and Dawn Archibald of Archibald, Louisiana. The family will be celebrating Karl?s life in a private memorial. The family requests in lieu of flowers, individuals make donations to the National Rifle Association, The Houston Society for the Prevention to Cruelty to Animals, or the charity of their choice.
