Obituary of James Julius Webb, Sr.

James Julius Webb, Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 28, 2019, after a brief illness.  He was born in Tennessee to Oscar and Lorene Webb on December 31, 1930.  Graveside services will be Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 11:00am at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, LA.  Officiating the service will be Rev. Leon Boggs.

James graduated high school from White House High School. In 1955 he met the love of his life Doris Havens, and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage. They had two kids, James Jr. and Carol.  He joined the Air Force in 1951 and proudly served his country for 26 years before retiring in 1977.  During his service, he served one tour in Da’Nang, Vietnam, and other assignments to include Japan, the French Morocco, Alaska, and Barksdale AFB. 

James was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Mary and Jean. He is survived by his wife Doris; children, James (Elizabeth) Webb Jr and Carol (Jeffrey) Stone; three brothers, Harold, Oscar Jr, and Marvin; sister, Helen Eidson; two grandchildren, Jason Stone and Sara Leach, four great-grandchildren, Grayson Leach, Sawyer Leach, Desmond Leach, and Idris Leach; and many other family members and friends.

The family wants to extend their gratitude to the staff at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home.

James was a great husband, father and grandfather that will be greatly missed by all. His legacy will live on through his loved ones.
