Obituary of Fred Wilburn

Fred A. Wilburn was born in Pensacola, FL, on December 13, 1951, to Clifford and Louelle Wilburn.  Fred passed away on January 27, 2021 after a long battle with liver cancer.  He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jimmy and Lee Ollie.

Fred is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Wilburn; daughter Tara Durst and her husband, Patrick; son, Wesley Wilburn;  three grandchildren, Charlotte, Brian and Tyler; brother Ed Wilburn and wife Mary; brother Paul Wilburn; and many life-long friends.

After high school, Fred enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving his country for 20 years.  He went on to own his own lawn care business, combining his love of gardening and yard work with his strong work ethic.  Fred will be remembered for his love of fishing, golf, working in his yard and hosting family and friends for fish fries and crawfish boils.  

A simple military funeral service will be held at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Keithville, LA, on Friday, February 5th, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.  Masks and social distancing are appreciated. Pastor Greg Davis of Broadmoor Methodist will officiate.
