Obituary of Don O. Thomas

"To yesterday's companionship and tomorrow's reunion" Bossier City, LA - Don Orlando Thomas, a resident of Bossier City passed away peacefully on February 23, 2017. He attended LSU-Baton Rouge and graduated from Centenary College with a Bachelor of Science Degree. Don was the owner of Producer's Pump & Supply Co. and Don's Trailer Park in Waskom, TX. He was a member of Broadmoor Methodist Church but attended First Bossier Baptist Church. Don served his country in the Army as a Private E-1 and worked at the Pentagon in Washington DC during the time of the Korean Conflict, afterwards receiving the National Defense Service Medal. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge #122 in Shreveport, LA. His beloved wife, Moselle Bounds Thomas, preceded him in death along with his parents David and Cleah Thomas, and his son-in-law Dallas Weston. Survivors are his children and their spouses Mark and Rosemary Thomas, Cherri Weston, and Terry and Julie Thomas; grandchildren Teddy Don Weston and spouse Amber, Lauren Gorrell and spouse Luke, and Derrick Thomas and spouse Amber; sister Bettye Thomas. His extended family sister-in-law Glynda Ernesto, brother-in-law Verdell Yorba; children Joe and spouse Cindy Gay, Kathleen and spouse Bob Berney; grandchildren B.J. and spouse Allison Friar, Michael Ann and spouse Scott Stephens, Jacob, Tanner, and Cameron Gay; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Don will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 26, 2017 at Boone Funeral Home-Bossier. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to service time. Officiating will be Rev. Joe Whittney and Music Minister, Eddie Colvin of First Bossier. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the charity of the donor's choice. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the wonderful care given by Angel Sitter Service and Shreveport-Bossier Hospice. A special thank you to Mr. Thomas' caregivers Kathy Williams, Shirley Jones, Debbie Sloane, Catherine Wilson and Brandy Williams, hospice nurses Tracie Varnell, Susan Hancock, Kim Hunter; Chaplain Rev. Woody Janise, and social worker Johnette Wateman. II Timothy 4: 7: I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
