Keithville, LA ? Funeral services for Albert F. LaFiette, Jr. will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Boone Funeral Home, 3903 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, LA. Interment will follow in Forest Park Cemetery West. Officiating will be Rev. Leslie Daley assisted by Jimmy Patterson.
The family will receive friends between 5:00 and 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Boone Funeral Home.
Al, surrounded by his loving family, went to be with his Lord Saturday, May 21, 2011 after a long heart related illness. Al loved his girls with all his heart. They and each of his grandchildren brought much joy and happiness to his world. They spent fun times together gathering wonderful memories. Among them his treat of Caribbean Cruises also with their late Granddad. These will live in their hearts always.
A perfect day to Al was out on one of the many area lakes. Rod and reel in hand angling for that next big bass. A member of BASS Tournament. Fisherman through the years. Al acquired an impressive collection of trophies for his excellent fishing abilities. He was well respected in the fishing world.
Al was a boilermaker by trade formerly at Rothschild?s of Shreveport. Before retirement he was a property manager.
Al was surrounded by his loving family. Preceding him in death were parents, Louise Nichols and Albert F. LaFiette, Sr.; sisters, Betty Sustaita, and Bobby Mayo; and long-time companion Freda Reynolds. He is survived by daughters, Kim LaFiette, Kelly Beavers and husband Steven, and Sammi Jo Allred and husband Patrick; grandchildren, Ashley Jones, Jeremy and Tyler Holder, Peyton Beavers and Madison Allred; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Jones and soon to be born, Jeremy Chase Holder, Jr. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Steven Beavers, Patrick Allred, Jeremy Holder, Clint Walker, James ?Bubba? Holder and Bernard Malone.
Al will be greatly missed by his family, and friends.
