Obituary of Thomas Clark Barnes

Thomas Clark Barnes, 70 of Haughton, LA passed away peacefully at home on November 9, 2018.

 

Visitation will be held at Boone Funeral Home, Bossier City, LA on Wednesday, November 14, 2108 between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM.  Funeral services will be held at Boone Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 1:30 PM with Reverend L.V. Plunkett officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Methodist Church in Pleasant Valley, LA (Cotton Valley).

 

Tommy was born in Bossier on April 4, 1948 to Robert (RB) and Marguerite Barney.  He graduated from Haughton High School in 1966 and went on to serve in the US Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran.

 

After his time in the Army, he had a 47 year career in the Oil and Gas Industry.  Throughout his oil field career he worked for Bio-State, Boots and Coots, and Halliburton. 

 

Tommy enjoyed hunting, fishing, westerns, searching for old treasures like rocks, and metals.  He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family.  He was a loving husband and father.  He was a true gentleman. 

 

Tommy is preceded in death by his father, Robert (R.B.) Barnes; mother, Marguerite Barnes; sisters, Freda and Barbara; and grandson, Johnathan.

 

Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Loretta Barnes; mother-in-law, Sybil Lambright; brothers, Bobby, Edward and David Barnes; sister, Ann Richardson; daughters, Kerri Barnes (Dustin Morrison), Amy Barnes (Scott Harrison), Courtney Barnes (Jessica Renauet), Misty Webb Blankenship (Donnie Blankenship), Charlea Webb (Henry West); and very special nephew, Robert Hightower (Stormy).  Tommy has eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other family members. 

 

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Barnes, Derrick Moore, Chad Moore, John Holleman, Thomas Holleman, and Drew Moore.

 

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Willis Knighton North, 5th Floor nurses, Dr. Saucier and St. Joseph’s Hospice with a special thank you to Stephanie Plunkett and husband, L.V. Plunkett,
