Obituary of Michael Ray Nix
Michael Ray Nix was born on October 24, 1967 in Shreveport, LA. He entered the gates of Heaven on January 5, 2020 after a brief illness. Michael lived his 52 years in Benton, LA,Texarkana, TX, and Bossier City, LA. Michael was affectionately known as Dude to those closest to him. Being a dad, to Dylan, Big D, was his greatest accomplishment in life. He loved his little family, Dylan, Amber, Asher, and Dani with all his heart. Papaw Dude was the name given to him by his grandbabies Little Bud, Asher & DinkDink, Dani. Spending time hanging out with their Papaw Dude brought him abundant joy! Dude’s work ethic was known by all and he was trusted by many to carry out with great detail and pride the work he was given. He went out of his way to make sure that everyone around him was taken care of. No matter what. His friendship and selfless, loving heart were his finest attributes. Dude was preceded in death by his father, Walter Harris Nix, aunt, Willie Dale Nix, aunt and uncle, Jr. and Betty Butts, cousin, Karen Butts, and nephew, James Walter Nix II. He is survived by his loving momma, Claudette Digilormo, step-dad, Dominick Digilormo, his daughter, Rachel Freeman, his son, Dylan, daughter-in-law, Amber, and grandbabies, Asher and Dani, Natalie, Kailee, Leo, and Lulu. Sister, Kim Howell and brother-in-law, Michael Howell, brother, Jimmy Nix and sister-in-law, Lisa Nix, sister, Cindy Nix, and countless nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts, uncles, and loving friends. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Boone Funeral Home in Bossier City, LA under the direction of Bryan Reed, pastor, Simple Church, where Dude loved worshipping and inviting others.
