Melanie Starlin Brookfield, MO July 8, 2006 12:13 AM Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies on the loss of your mother. Miss Milli was such a wonderful soul, I am blessed to have known her. May she finally be at peace. Melanie Starlin and family -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- George Haynes Shreveport July 7, 2006 12:09 AM When a widow in the Bible Had to make a contribution She donated two small coins It was all she had. But the force of her conviction And her generous, giving nature Imbued those coppers with more value Than the cost of every ounce of gold on earth. Millicent was like that widow One whose every act and gesture Radiated love and care For everyone she knew. We loved the animation That always blurred her small frame As this feisty, friendly being Struggled and triumphed through her life. Some knew her as a loving sister Others as a devoted daughter, A few lucky ones called her mother or grandmother But to everyone she was the best kind of friend. She no longer walks around in Louisiana Yet we see her every day Whenever we witness generosity Or watch some spirited children play. Millicent was like an iceberg in the ocean To our eyes appearing small, But Millicent was three quarters hidden, In reality she stood ten feet tall! amy@PoemsToGo.tv -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Linda Jordan Shreveport July 4, 2006 12:39 PM Beautiful Millicent, I remember when you wore you hair as it is in this picture. What fun we had at the Sheriff's Office and what a trooper you were during your illness. To Millicent's children, she loved you so very much and you were her whole life. How lucky you are to have had her as your mother. And yes, Millicent is decorating heaven with her smile and warmth. Hug Chief Almond for me. Linda -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Darren July 3, 2006 5:28 PM Mom, I will always love you. Your strength of conviction and trueness to self will always be an inspiration to which I aspire. Thank you for being the true anchor despite unbelievable opposition. Your protection of our childhood innocence is a gift from which we will never be separated. I love you forever, Darren -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Judith Baughman-Scott Houston, Tx. This has touched me deeply, but I can't be sad becuase Millicent is in a better place and at the feet of Jesus. If anyone would like to talk with me please call 281-821-7018. With deepest love and prayers...Judy Baughman-Scott -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sherry Dyess Shreveport July 1, 2006 10:35 PM How sad for her family to not have her here, but I know Millicent is in heaven with Jesus now and is no longer in pain. She is walking the streets of gold now and probably redecorating heaven at this very moment! We love you Millicent. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- karen July 1, 2006 8:11 PM Mother, We will never forget your bravery. You are the BEST !
