To the family,
May the Sovereign Lord, the "Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort, comfort you during this most difficult time. He truly understands your pain. Please draw comfort from his promises recorded in the Bible at Isaiah 25:8; 26:19 and John 5:28.

I'm so glad Doug's memorial service will be held at Louisiana Downs Chapel. The reason why it is the perfect place for services is because the track was a place Doug truly enjoyed working and visiting. It is my understanding both he and Marilyn at one point worked at the track. Doug had a real love for everything about horse racing and the horses.
God bless Chaplain Riggs! Marilyn's sisters truly appreciate the help of Chaplain Les Riggs. He has been a tremendous help to both Marilyn and her family during this difficult time. Chaplain Riggs jumped right in from the very start by informing family of Doug's accident right away. He continued to assist in every way he could think of. He packed Marilyn's household items, has assisted in moving, assisted with funeral arrangements and made himself available in every way possible to Marilyn's sisters and niece, Shiloh Starnes.
