Obituary of LaVerne Smith

LaVerne Smith passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on October 26, 2020 in Bossier City, LA. She is dancing in Heaven in the arms of Jesus. She was quiet in nature and strong in Christian character, an avid supporter of her five sons and with her husband, E. W. Smith didn't miss many of their football, baseball or basketball games.

There will be a visitation on Wednesday October 28, 2020 at Boone Funeral Home from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM followed by a family interment service at Hillcrest Memorial Park on Thursday October 29, 2020 at 10:00 AM. The service will be officiated by Rev. Dr. Randy Harper, Pastor of Bellaire Baptist Church, Bossier City.

Preceding LaVerne in death are her husband E.W. Smith and son Donald Wayne Smith.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons David (Carolyn), Tommy (Janet), Paul (Pauline) and Travis (Sharon); 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Honoring LaVerne as pallbearers will be Jon David Smith, Michael Smith, Jason Hess, Whit Applegate, Warren Johnson and Stone Smith.
