Obituary of Dudley Joseph Vallot
Dudley Joseph Vallot, of Shreveport, LA, passed away peacefully at home on October 24, 2018 at the age of 84. Dudley was born in Youngsville LA to Alley and Ida Vallot on October 7, 1934. He was as Cajun as they come and didn’t learn English until he was 6.
Dudley was a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He is survived by his wife Wonette Vallot, sons Joseph D. Vallot Jr., John W. Vallot (Paula), daughters Anne Riley (Lee), Laurie Cox (Marty) and step-daughter Susan Jarecki. Grandchildren: Lindsey Vallot, Jeffrey Goodman (Lisa), Ethan Goodman, Jessica Blaine (Evan Lee), Hunter Vallot, Katherine DiIulio, Shelton Cox (Adrianna), Trey Vallot, Carter Cox, Riley Vallot, Kendall DiIulio. Great grandchildren: Braygen, Evan Lee III “Bud”, Baylor and Adeline. Siblings Mary Ann Ross (Jerry), Claire Manuel (Isi) and Anthony Vallot (Phyllis) as well as his former spouse, Maureen Vallot.
Dudley is preceded in death by his parents Alley and Ida Vallot and stepson Jeff Hayes. He loved his family above all and had many interests including travel, flying and cooking. He was a proud veteran of the Air Force, serving during the Korean War. With always a kind word for everyone, he made friends easily. His long career in the restaurant business included opening Don’s Seafood in 1965 followed by Dudley’s, Dudley & Gerald’s and Dudley’s on the Lake.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 27th at Boone Funeral Home, 2156 Airline Dr. Bossier City. Visitation will start at 11, followed by the service at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to the American Heart Association.
