Keithville, LA-Kenneth Russell Harris, ?KR?, 82, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on June 19, 2011, after a long illness. The family will receive friends at Boone Funeral Home - Shreveport Chapel from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Graveside services will be at Forest Park Cemetery West on Wednesday, June 22 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Darwin Hunter of Sunset Church of Christ officiating.
KR was born on October 27, 1928 in Dennison, TX to Charlie and Georgia Stanbury Harris. He retired from Union Pacific Railroad and was a member of Sunset Church of Christ.
KR was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Audrey Denler Harris and brother, Charles Harris. Left to cherish his memories and tell his stories will be his wife of 37 years, Bobbie Johnson Harris; sister, Jeannie Brown; step brother, Charles Lincoln; daughters, Susan Turner, and Barbara O?Brien; step-children who were like his own, Jennifer Bass, Doug Prothro, Carl Prothro, Curtis Prothro and Carolyn Campbell; along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He enjoyed camping and fishing. The nicest man in the World, he was adored by all. We are very fortunate to have had him in our lives.
KR?s family would like to extend their appreciation to Jordan?s Crossing Hospice, especially to Stuart Orchard, Shira Foster and Rev Matt Impson for their excellent and loving care.
