Elm Grove- Memorial Services for Mrs. Beth Sterbenz will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at 11:00am at Boone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dave Fortuna officiating. The family will receive friends from 8:00am until service time. Mrs. Sterbenz was born in Marysville, Kansas February 16, 1928 to Vernon "Bing" Hall and Mildred Landes Hall, graduated from Marysville High School (Class of 1946), attended Kansas State University, married her late husband, Bruce J. Sterbenz and moved to the Shreveport, Louisiana area as owners of a Maytag appliance parts distributorship. A forty year member of Noel Memorial United Methodist Church in Shreveport, Beth was very active until her health became so she could not attend regularly. She was Past Queen of the Daughters of the Nile, High Priestess of the Ladies Oriental Shrine, and spent a great deal of her time sharing her love with children at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Shreveport. Mrs. Sterbenz, 80, passed from this life Thurday, January 29, 2009 at her home with her family at her side. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce and daughter, Karen Simmons. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kitty Folmar, Kevin Sterbenz, and Kristin Salyards; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
