Obituary of Carol A. Kenney

Many, many people are blessed for having known Carol Alene Kenney.  Carol passed away August 15, 2018 at the age of 76.  Carol died under hospice care at her home after a long battle with respiratory disease.  Carol is lovingly remembered by her husband of 28 years, Robert A. Kenney, Jr.

Carol was born November 3, 1941.  She was a long time resident of Bossier City.  She remembered a time when Barksdale Boulevard was a dirt road.  Carol also lived briefly in Washington, DC and Houston, Texas. 

Carol became a mother of three boys.  She has numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her mother and father, one brother, and one sister.  She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Kenney, Jr.; youngest sister, Patsy Lacour and brother-in-law, Don Lacour of Liberty, Texas, and brother, William E. Chaney of Bossier City.

Carol and Robert were very fond of all living creatures.  They never met a stray cat that they didn’t take in and treat like a member of their own family.

Carol’s loved ones would like to extend gratitude to Amedisys Hospice of Shreveport, specifically to Lisa, Amanda, Mike, and Chaplain Jim Gstohl for providing comfort and kindness during a very difficult time. 

A private memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Fellowship Baptist Church, 304 Sibley Street, Benton, Louisiana. 

Memorial donations in memory of Carol Kenney may be made to the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, 2544 Linwood Avenue, Shreveport, Louisiana, or a charity of your choice.
