Obituary of Ora Bishop

Shreveport- Mrs. Ora Kines Bishop, 87, was born in Hagansport, TX on June 18, 1920 and moved to Shreveport in 1947. She was a buyer/manager for Selber Brothers and Southern Gift and Fashions for many years. Active in her profession, she was past president of the Port of Shreve Chapter of American Business Women's Assn., past treasurer of the Uptown Merchants Assn., and still made time to be active in her children's PTA organizations. A longtime member of Ingleside Baptist Church, she taught and shared her love for her Savior. Currently she was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. She passed from this life on Thursday, January 10, 2008.
Preceding Mrs Bishop in death are her parents, Eli and Fannie Clawson; husband of 37 years, Marvin R. Kines; one infant son; sister, Bennie H. Perkins; brother, Bryant Clawson; and great-granddaughter, Jackie Marie Murray. She leaves a wonderful family legacy in her husband, Bill Bishop of Shreveport; daughters, Lynn Kines Murray of Shreveport and Leona Kines Lockley of Rockwall, TX; granddaughters, Susan Moss and Lynnette and Kenny Whisenhunt; grandsons, Larry and Lexie Murray, Marvin Murray and Roy Noble, Thomas Murray, Paul and Margaret Murray, Robert and Sherry Murray, and Mitch and Gina Lockley; 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Bishop will be held Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 10:30am at Boone Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Stowell officiating. Interment will take place in the Fairview Cemetery in Hagansport, TX at 3:30pm. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm on Friday evening. Mrs. Bishop's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
