Funeral services for Mable Marter will be 11:00 AM, Friday, October 23, 2009 at Louisiana Funeral and Cremation Care in Shreveport. Interment will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Arlington Cemetery, El Dorado, AR. Officiating will be Reverend Barbara Driscoll of Broadmoor Christian Church. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 22, 2009 between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 PM at Louisiana Funeral and Cremation Care. The family will also receive friends on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Young?s Funeral Home in El Dorado, AR from 1:00 PM to service time. Mable, 91, went home on October 19, 2009. During Miss Mable?s long and prosperous life, she was fortunate to see her family extend five generations. She dearly loved her son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was known as a feisty person that enjoyed her church and always helped anyone that was in need. Mable was preceded in death by her husband, J. R. Marter; brothers; Buck, Dan, and J.W. Spears; and sisters, Aleen Garrett and Velma Jones. Left to cherish her memories are her son, Chester Williams and wife Barbara; three granddaughters, one grandson, seven great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; and many special nieces and nephews. Mable is now at peace with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She used her life to help others and now has received her reward.
