Dad, mother, and I made a trip to Shreveport in 1995. I loved this lady very much, such a gentle soul. I feel fortunate to have been able to spend an afternoon with her.
Very sorry for your loss.
Richard Walker

Charles, Although I was seldom around you or your mom, it does not keep me from feeling sadness and a sense of loss in her passing. Sadness for you because you have lost a very dear mother and a sense of loss because I did not get the opportunity to get to know a very dear lady. I pray the sweet memories you have of her will give you a sense of peace within.
Love,
Janet Lee Walker Crider
(daughter of John Curry Walker whose father was your Grandmother Beulah Woodruff's brother)

My family lived across the street from Mary "Majette" and her mom from 1983-94. She was a lovely person who took wonderful care of her mom. She was always so sweet to my boys; I still have Christmas ornaments she gave them every year. She loved working as a pink lady at Highland Hospital. She was a wealth of information about Broadmoor and Shreveport and, especially, the development of the 400 block of Ockley Dr. As a child, her family owned much of the property on which her house was situated as well as all the land around it for almost half the block. Her dad raised Tennessee walking horses. My husband and I loved visiting with her and "Boo," and I have thought of her often ever since. She was a beautiful person inside and out.
Our deepest sympathies to her family.
