Obituary of Carra Lynn Stewart

Please share a memory of Carra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Carra Lynn Stewart, born December 26th, 1964, was called home on June 4th, 2017. Carra was passionate about helping people. She was active in mission and outreach work through her home church of Central Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky, including a mission trip to Ecuador to build homes and share in faith. Carra found her calling in caring for others in her studies, earning her Associate's Degree in Nursing in 1999 and her Bachelor's in Physician's Assistant Studies in 2001. Her work found her caring for others in post-cardiac telemetry and neurosurgery before finally leading her to focus on chronic pain management, helping others to lead lives of happiness and comfort. Carra loved to travel. In school she took the opportunity to study abroad, starting a lifelong love affair with the British Isles. Later in life, she would explore England, Scotland, and Ireland with her husband Jim; and none could ever forget her love for the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. Her favorite place was anywhere warm and sunny, waves lapping the beach, toes in the sand, surrounded by her friends and family. What Carra loved most was her family. Always quick to help a friend in need, Carra truly was the heart of our family. She was incredibly proud of her new "shabby-chic" home and was eager to share it with her family and fill it with new memories - but she always said "I only have a kitchen because it came with the house!" Carra joins her beloved husband James Walton Stewart; her brothers, Peter Gordon Middlemist and Kevin Andrew Middlemist; and her "fur babies" Oscar, Mercury, Shannon, and Shar. She is survived by her three sons: Jason Andrew Johnson and his partner Kevin Robert Pfund; John Craig Stewart and his wife Jerrisu Allison Stewart; and Bennett James Tuma-Stewart and his husband Jacob Tyson Tuma-Stewart. She is survived by her parents, Patricia Louise Bush and Kenneth Edward Middlemist; her sister, Kristen Anne Holdren; her brother, Gerald Edward Middlemist, and his partner, Christina Chantal Varner; her nephew, Peter Braedan Middlemist; her sister, Elizabeth Aileen Middlemist; her niece, Mary-Margaret Alice "Poppy" Middlemist; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, John Walton Stewart and Carolyn Jean Stewart; her brother in-law and sister-in-law, Daron Wayne Caswell and Sandy Jean Caswell; her nieces, Kaylee Danelle Vreeman and Kori Elizabeth Caswell; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jonathan Edwin Stewart and Toni Loraine Stewart; and cousin, Alex Middlemist Erickson.
